Airport / Hotel Transportation

There are many means of transportation to and from the airport. These are a few that we would like to suggest:
 
Hotel Limousine:          Rates vary from Hotel to Hotel – must be booked in advance
 
Airport Bus Express:
Service hours: 5 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Contact at Airport Bus Counter Level 1, near Entrance 8.
Fare is 150 Baht per person per trip.

Pick up area: taxi stand Level 1
Traveling expenses: metered taxi fare plus 50 Baht surcharge, and expressway fees.
 
Car Rental:                  (24 Hour Service)
Service providers: AVIS, Hertz, Budget and Thai car rent Association.
Car rental center located at the Public Transportation Center
Gate B: contact the car rental service counter in the arrival hall. Get a car at the car rental office located at the car rental center

Transportation

There are many ways to get around Bangkok but the three most popular and easiest would have to be the following: taxi, bts / skytrain and the underground. Below you will find a general fare guide, but please keep in mind that fares are subject to change without notice.
Taxi Fares:
Always use a taxi that displays the “taxi meter” sign. Vacant taxis display a ‘Red’ light on the front windshield of passenger side of the vehicle. Taxi fares exclude tollway / expressway fares; which vary accordingly – these charges are displayed on signs and at the pay booth [list included below]
 
Taxi Fares start at:        35.-Baht         [first 2kms]
                                     4.50/km          [for the next 10kms]               
                                     5.00/km          [for the next 13-20kms]
                                     5.50/km          [for distances over 20kms]
                                     1.25/min         [s/c: traffic congestion & speed under 6km/hr]
                                    extra charge    [tollway / expressway – 15, 20, 30 or 40Baht]
 
Hours of Operation:                 24hr service
                                                Please keep in mind that 15:00 is the beginning of the                                                            shift change and taxis will be scarce
                        
 
BTS Skytrain Fares:                 Magnetic stripe tickets
One-way ticket:            15.- to 40.-Baht 
One day pass:             120.-Baht                     [valid for date of purchase only]
30 day pass:                440 + 30 = 470.-B       [20 trips – Adult]
30 day pass:                340 + 30 = 370.-B       [20 trips – Student]
 
 
Hours of operation:                  06:00 – 00:00
                                                Trains run every 3-5mins
 
MRT Underground Metro Fares:          
Round Tokens [Single Journey]
Magnetic Stripe Tickets [Stored Value Ticket]
 
            Station #1:                   14.-Baht + 2.-Baht for consecutive stations
            Station #12 - #17:        36.-Baht
  
Other Types of Transportation
Along with the above mentioned types of transportation, visitors will also find buses [air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned], river / boat taxis, tuk-tuks [3wheeled motor vehicles – fares must be negotiated before travel starts] and in some parts of Thailand, 3wheeled bicycle taxis or “Sahm Law”.
